Workshop: Encounters with fungi- Batemans Bay
Sunday 2 July 2023
10:30am - 2:30pm
Where: Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden, Deep Creek Dam Road, Batemans Bay
Venue: Banksia Room
Cost: $80 per person
Come along to experience the diversity, ecology and curiosities of the fungi kingdom with renowned ecologist, Alison Pouliot.
You'll learn the basics of fungus identification, fungal ecology, and the natural and cultural history of fungi within the local region, and a wider Australian and international context.
You will then join an exciting two-hour foray through various local habitat types to search for fungi species of interest. During this discovery walk, you'll learn to recognise the many diagnostic characteristics used to identify fungi in the field and understand their ecological significance in local ecosystems.
We encourage you to bring along some specimens for identification during the workshop.
This workshop is organised as part of the Fungi Feastival, a south coast community celebration of the unique world of fungi.
