Presentation: Brush-tailed phascogale - Batemans Bay

Saturday 15 June 2024

10:30am - 11:30am

Where: Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden, Princes Highway, Batemans Bay

Venue: Banksia Room

Cost: Free

Come along and hear about the recent exciting discovery of a brush-tailed phascogale in the Eurobodalla.

During this presentation, you'll learn:

  • some interesting facts about these beautiful creatures
  • when and where previous sightings of this species occurred in the Eurobodalla
  • what you can do to help ensure these marsupials continue to live in our community.

Until recently, we believed this species no longer existed on the NSW far south coast, however:

  • In 2018, Council helped to develop a phascogale citizen science project using nestboxes and cameras.
  • In November 2023, a phascogale appeared on camera.
  • We now know that brush-tailed phascogales are still living in the Eurobodalla.
