Education in the Botanic Gardens

Education is an important part of what we do at the Gardens.

Throughout the Gardens you will find fascinating signs with information about the world of plants, our collection and the environment. We also have a range of brochures available from our Visitor Centre that focus on wildlife, children’s activities and indigenous culture.

Our Year 4 Schools program has been going for over 15 years and has become an important part of the regional school curriculum. This program sees almost 600 students participate in a unique hands on day of environmental education.

We have knowledgeable guides that run free guided walks on the first Sunday of each month at 11 am from our Visitor Centre or you can make a booking for a personalised group walk at other times by contacting our Visitor Centre.

We also run courses and workshops at the Gardens in partnership with Adult Ed Community College and the Eurobodalla Shire Council Environment team. Subjects include photography, composting, weaving with native grasses and worm farming.
